Noida and its sister city Greater Noida are known for their impeccable Infrastructure like wide roads, sewerage system etc. Residents and investors are lauding Noida Authority and Uttar Pradesh government for fast tracking the metro rail project. This 30-km link between Noida and Greater Noida cities is scheduled for completion by 2017 and the work has started at good speed.

Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC)
A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has been formed for the Noida Metro Rail Project and it is chaired by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh.
Role of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)
DMRC is responsible for the construction of the corridor while NMRC will look after funding of the project. DMRC will maintain and run this project for the next five years after it is completed.
Cost and Funding
The Noida-Greater Noida Metro System is proposed to be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 3684 Crores without taxes. The estimated cost with central taxes only comes to Rs. 4117 crore and the Completion Cost works out to Rs 5533 Crores.

Extra FAR along metro route
Floor-area ratio (FAR) of all plots located within 500 metres on either side of the proposed line is increased by 0.5. FAR is increased from the existing 2.75 to 3.25 along both sides of Metro link.
